Company staff members enjoyed an amazing day on June 8, 2023, as they participated in building Habitat for Humanity homes in Rockford, IL as part of the company’s HSA Gives Back program.
Herkowski Stickler & Associates created HSA Gives Back earlier this year, a program where we find different volunteer opportunities within the communities in which we work and live. In some instances, we reach out to our manufacturers, customers, and partners to see if they want to get involved in our upcoming charitable endeavors to make a bigger impact!
Habitat for Humanity, with a vision of “a world where everyone has a decent place to live,” partners with people all over the world to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners, who help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage, achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.
The homes HSA staff worked on, some of the many the Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity organization is constructing from the ground up, provide affordable housing within the community. Each of the homes will feature geothermal systems that heat and cool utilizing the near-constant ground temperature in the earth, using heat pumps to absorb heat during winter and then expelling heat in the summer.
HSA received support from some of its manufacturer partners, including…
- Gerber Plumbing Fixtures, who donated 12 Viper toilets and 12 Luxoval bathroom sinks. Kudos to Araceli Lee, Gerber Regional Sales Manager, for helping to coordinate provision of the materials.
- Oatey Company, who provided 12 closet flanges, 12 wax rings, six washing machine supply boxes, three kitchen sink drains, and 12 P-traps. Oatey representatives Alyssa Carlozzi, Katherine Lehtinen, Amanda Keiber, and Tracy Gawecki made this donation possible and seamless.
